We perceive colors thanks to three types of photoreceptors in our retina.
But their relative densities vary from one individual to another. As such, colors do not exist. They are just light absorbed and reflected by objects, with different wavelengths. It is our eyes and our brain that “creates” colors, and perceptions inevitably varies from one person to another. Everyone has their own unique perception of the world. Reality is a mysterious and fluctuating thing, because our perception never stays the same. Tolerance is an essential pillar of living together. It is based on respect of differences.
What would time be without an open mind? No doubt times when we would all be the same, when there would be no more particular cultures, beliefs, practices and opinions. Does respect without tolerance exist? Or tolerance without respect?
